We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of High School Republicans of Texas State Chairman Connor Pfeiffer upon the news of the passing of his mother - Cheryl Pfeiffer.

Today, the Republican Party of Texas mourns the loss of a true Texas patriot upon the news that former State Party Chairman Frederick R. "Fred" Meyer passed away this morning in Dallas at the age of 84. Meyer served as State Party Chairman for three terms from 1988-1994.

Texas Republicans pause to memorialize this day of tragedy, and to remember those who have bravely sacrificed and given their lives to protect and defend America in its wake.

Condolences go out to former RPT Treasurer and current RPT Redistricting Committee member Paul Bettencourt, whose mother Dorothy passed away this week due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.

We extend our sincere condolences to SREC SD5 Committeewoman Jean Killgore, upon the passing of her husband W. Leonard Killgore, Jr. this week.

RPT Chairman Steve Munisteri said, "I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Harvey Skinner. It has been a personal privilege to meet and work with him over the past two years. He will be missed by many."

The Republican Party of Texas would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of past RPT Chairwoman Cathie Adams upon the news of the passing of her mother - Helen Louise Mingee.

On the news of the passing of Michael Edmondson, son of Denton County GOP Chairwoman and RNC for Life Director Dianne Edmondson.

In 1979, Governor Bill Clements appointed Justice Garwood as the first Republican Texas Supreme Court Justice since Reconstruction. After, he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and served for 30 years.

Former Texas Governor William P. "Bill" Clements forever changed the political landscape of the Lone Star State, and the current success of the modern Republican Party of Texas can be attributed in large part to his election as Governor.

Said Chairman Munisteri, "Bill was one of the most impressive men I have ever encountered.  He had a long history of accomplishment as an executive and successful businessman."

For all those who have been involved in Harris County politics over the years Chairwoman Palm is truly a legend. She worked tirelessly for years to build up the Harris County party at a time when Democrats were solidly in control.

Wright, along with former RPT State Chairman Ray Barnhart, former RNC Committeeman Ernie Angelo, former State Senator Betty Andujar, and banker Jimmy Lyons, composed the core of the state leadership team which was responsible for Reagan winning the 1976 Texas primary.

Today, all Americans should be unified in their prayers for the victims and their families, and unified in condemning this terrible tragedy in our country.
