Even after three special sessions, in Texas, there is still no clear legal language that forcibly defends the individual's right against corporations that are attempting to force or intimidate Texans into receiving medical treatment that they do not want. Former SREC member and lawyer Warren Norred provides some guidance on what we can do to resist these mandates.
Everybody was a homeschooling parent last year. Jeremy Newman with the Texas Homeschool Association joins us to bring us all up to speed on the future of homeschooling in Texas and around the nation...Hint: The future looks bright.
The Heartbeat Bill has passed. It is now the law of Texas, that medical professionals must test for a heartbeat, and if one is found, they cannot perform an abortion. Well, you know what they say? They say, "If you're taking on the flack, you must be flying over the enemy." And, as I speak, as I'm recording this episode, even now, the Republican Party of Texas website was hacked. And we're in the process of rebuilding that. A lot of opposition. Well, today I'm pleased to have with me, the legislative director for the Texas Right to Life, John Sego.
Today at 12:50 a.m. the Third Called Special Session of the 87th Legislature officially adjourned. Unfortunately, the forensic audit President Trump requested, and Governor Abbott added was not acted on.I'm joined today with Rep. Steve Toth to discuss his Election Audit legislation and to get an update on the monoclonal treatment therapies that are available in Texas.
The Democrats have declared war on parents. Terry McAuliffe, a former governor of Virginia and longtime Democratic operative seeking to return to the Governor’s mansion stated “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Attorney General Merrick Garland has ordered the FBI to investigate parents that speak up at school board meetings as domestic terrorists. Here in Texas, two parents have already been arrested and forced to spend the night in jail for the crime of participating in a public school board meeting.Today, I’m joined with those two parents, Dustin Clark and Jeremy Story and the two brave board members that are fighting back against the abuse of power by the majority of the school board, Danielle Weston and Mary Bone of the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD).To learn more and support these brave Texans visit:Danielle Weston https://www.daniellewestonforrrisd.com/Mary Bone https://drbone4rrisd.com/Dustin Clark and Jeremy Story https://givesendgo.com/G28XV
If you're like me, you learned your civics and your legislative processes through School House Rock. But maybe sometimes in the real world, it doesn't quite work out that way. So today, I am pleased to have as my guest representative Bryan Slaton, and he's going to join us today to tell us how the sausage is made. Bryan, welcome to the show.

Election Integrity

Election Integrity

2021-07-0625:56

Ensuring the integrity of our elections is one of the most solemn responsibilities our elected officials have. The democrats literally walked out of the capital to kill election reform during the 87th Regular Session. As we prepare for the start of the first special session, Cyber Security Expert, Phil Waldron gives us some background on why we must make it easy to vote and hard to cheat.
Founded on July 4, 1867 by 150 Black men and 20 Anglos in Houston, Texas, the Republican Party of Texas has a rich history. These early Republicans were intentionally reaching out to the newly-freed and newly-enfranchised freedmen, the former slaves. They were reaching out to ensure that they were also being registered to vote and so the Republicans have always literally, been stalwarts for Black people. That’s a history that’s not being told!
It's Sine Die and the 87th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature is now officially over. The Republican Party of Texas had 8 Legislative Priorities for this session. In this episode, Jill Glover, Chair of the SREC Legislative Priorities Committee and Jonathan score the session on each of our priorities.
It's hard to believe that 12 years ago the tea party started. And it started as a grassroots organizations with just moms and dads and grassroots activists, many of whom had not really been involved in politics before then. Well, now here we are 12 years later and these leaders have come up. And I am excited to be joined with True Texas, which started off as the Tarrant County or Tarrant Area Tea Parties Coalition and it's now around the state. I have the President, Fran Rhodes, and CEO, Julie McCarty. Fran and Julie, welcome to the show. Thanks for being on The Elephant Heard.
In Episode 102, we interviewed Senator Hall and talked about some of the legislative policies that are being made at the Capitol regarding ERCOT and energy resilience in the state of Texas. But what I wanted to do on this episode is bring in two of my friends, Victor Sauers and Paul Martin, and really have a deep dive on what happened from the perspective of someone that's in the energy industry. And then also, regardless of what our politicians do at the Capitol, we are conservatives and we are people that want to be prepared, we want to be the ones that are able to serve our neighbors and our community in the case of another disaster. There will be another disaster. And so I've asked Paul Martin to come in and talk with us about some preparation ideas and lessons learned from this event.
Today we're with Sandra Whitten and we're going to be talking about the gains that Republicans are making in traditionally Democrat areas. Sandra, ran in 2020 for Congress in Laredo, and she increased the vote count by over 20,000 votes and she's running again this year.
Today is election day for municipal and bond elections. We're proud of our Republican and Conservative candidates running for mayor, city council, and school boards across the state.Claudia Chavez explains why she decided to run and what's at stake in these elections.Get out and vote TODAY!
I am joined today with historian and former vice chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, David Barton. Great to have you here. Thanks so much for joining us.
We are excited about the grassroots. We care about local candidates and local issues. We believe that the most important issues and the places that really matter are the men and women that are running for local offices. Today I'm joined with the city council candidate from Cedar Park, Texas, just north of Austin, Dorian Chavez.
On February 13th, Winter Storm Uri slammed into Texas, impacting all 254 counties and leaving millions of Texans across the state without electricity or water. ERCOT, an agency that very few Texans had ever heard of, was now front and center to the newly-commenced 87th legislature. Senator Bob Hall has been leading the charge to get to the bottom of what happened and making sure that it never happens to Texans again.
The Republican Party of Texas has 8 Legislative Priorities. Chairman West outlines each one and what we are doing to make sure they are kept front and center during the 87th Legislative Session.
