Sam Pohl,

AUSTIN, TX – Today, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro announced his candidacy for President of the United States. Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey commented:

“The Democrat Party is in a steady move to the left. As Mayor of San Antonio, Castro’s biggest goal was to raise taxes. Now, he’s trying to take his leftist policies to Washington. We saw this play before when Barack Obama announced. Castro is following the same play book and would be just as ineffective. The American people want someone who will bring results that Texans expect like cutting taxes, securing our border, and keeping our economy booming.”
