AUSTIN, TX – In his new TV ad, Francis “Beto” O’Rourke spent expensive media time proudly highlighting a campaign stop with convicted Democrat Ron Reynolds. Reynolds’ image is the most dominant one in that shot.

“You can tell a lot about a candidate by the company he keeps. Francis ‘Beto’ O’Rourke has decided not just to be in the company of criminals, but to highlight that in his latest campaign commercial. Sadly it’s just another day on the trail for Texas Democrats,” said RPT Chairman James Dickey. “O’Rourke should immediately remove his campaign commercial from the air. It cheerfully highlights his campaign stop with convicted State Representative Ron Reynolds, whose law license was suspended following his conviction, has filed for bankruptcy, and has run up a tab of over $50,000 in fines from the Texas Ethics Commission. The use of Reynolds’ image in an ad of a candidate running for U.S. Senate condones criminal behavior and disregard for the law. This ad needs to come down and Francis should apologize to the good people of Texas for this latest example of his poor judgement.”
