AUSTIN – Today, the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) has launcheda new website exposing the hypocrisy of liberal Democrat State Rep. Joe Moody (D-El Paso), who is trying to hide his voting record and communication failures from the voters of House District 78.

In its first case, the website MadAtMoody.com reveals an embarrasing example of plagiarism from Rep. Joe Moody, who sought to hide his voting record by re-publishing quotations from a speech by Republican Governor Rick Perry in a taxpayer-funded newsletter to Moody’s HD 78 constituents.

“Joe Moody’s self-touted youth is no excuse for this plagiarism, and as a lawyer, he should have known better,” said RPT spokesman Chris Elam. “But even worse than his unabashed plagiarism, is the hypocrisy borne out from the research that Joe Moody either voted against or tried to kill or alter the pro-business initiatives he carefully copied from the Governor’s speech. Joe Moody’s voting record clearly suggests he is for more and higher taxes, more regulatory burdens on small business and for rolling back tort reform in Texas.”

The El Paso Times has called Joe Moody a “progressive thinker,” but the RPT asserts that this same liberal-progressive thinking will ultimately hurt the Texas economy by raising taxes and driving jobs to other states. RPT strongly recommends Texas voters visit MadAtMoody.com, and see the video presenting this research for themselves.

RPT will continue to update the website over the next few weeks with additional cases against liberal Joe Moody.
