Earlier today, in Dallas, TX, the National Rifle Association announced that Lt. Colonel Oliver North, USMC (Ret.) will become President of the National Rifle Association of America within a few weeks.

Lt. Colonel North stated in his speech to the NRA board: “I love my country. I hate injustice,” adding, “The assault on our constitution has to stop. . . . If we mobilize our 6 million members, it will stop.” He also declared, “The best leaders are servant leaders. . . . I will be your servant.”

Chairman James Dickey stated,

“I was proud to welcome the NRA Annual Meeting attendees to Texas last weekend when I spoke during their grassroots panel presentation, and am not at all surprised that our great state set a new record of 87,154 attendees.

“I could not be more thrilled to learn that Lt. Col. Oliver North will become President of the National Rifle Association. It is fitting that a Texas-born warrior should be charged with leading the NRA Board of Directors in unflinchingly standing and fighting for the freedom that guards all others. The Republican Party of Texas stands with Lt. Col. North and the many thousands of Texas gun owners within the NRA who also value personal accountability and responsibility and the inalienable right of all people to defend themselves and their property.”
