On Wednesday, the State Affairs committee of the Texas House of Representatives passed HB 15 by Rep. Sid Miller in an important step towards enacting priority legislation relating to the protection of life and a woman’s right to be fully informed!

RPT State Chairman Steve Munisteri reiterated the party’s commitment to passing this priority legislation – “First I would like to congratulate Rep. Sid Miller and the House State Affairs committee for working rapidly to pass this bill out of committee. I also want to thank Senator Dan Patrick and Rep. Geanie Morrison for their leadership and commitment to this important issue. The RPT greatly appreciates how quickly our Republican leadership is moving towards finally passing this critical legislation – one of our state party’s legislative priorities this session.”

The State Affairs Committee is led by Chairman Byron Cook, and all nine Republican members of the committee voted for passing the bill out of committee. Those members include: Byron Cook, Tom Craddick, John Frullo, Charlie Geren, Patricia Harless, Harvey Hilderbran, Dan Huberty, John Smithee and Burt Solomons.
