As a demonstration of unity and cooperation among Republican leaders, the Texas Republican Representatives Campaign Committee (TRRCC) has initiated a project to continue the momentum of our party’s recent electoral success, and has committed to raise additional funding for the Republican Party of Texas!

Today, TRRCC Chairman Rep. Harvey Hilderbran (R-Kerrville) was joined by two of the TRRCC board members Rep. Myra Crownover (R-Denton) and Rep. Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham), here at the RPT headquarters where they presented RPT State Chairman Steve Munisteri with a generous donation of $5000 each.

The TRRCC was founded in August of 2009 with a mission statement to preserve and expand the Republican majority in the Texas House of Representatives. The board members of the TRRCC are: Rep. Harvey Hilderbran, Chairman, Rep. Myra Crownover, Rep. Lois Kolkhorst, Rep. Jim Keffer, Rep. Ken Paxton, Rep. Larry Taylor, Rep. Larry Phillips, Rep. Kelly Hancock, and Rep. Wayne Smith.

In only the first 18 months of its existence, TRRCC has been very active in both recruiting and funding Republican candidates for the State House. The committee raised approximately $450,000 during its first election cycle. In the 2010 races, TRRCC was involved in numerous races, and worked hard to recruit candidates that include freshmen State Representatives Jose Aliseda (R-Beeville) and Marva Beck (R-Centerville). The committee has been modeled after the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and is geared towards a Texas culture of solid, conservative principles.

Said RPT Chairman Steve Munisteri, “One of the reasons why I believe the Republican Party was so successful in 2010, is due to the cooperation between various Republican groups. In order to continue our success in 2012, I believe the RPT must continue good relations with other Republican organizations, and whenever possible, to coordinate with each other. TRRCC Chairman Harvey Hilderbran helped advance this goal by personally reaching out to the RPT to not only discuss ways that his organization could work with the state party, but also by offering his help in ensuring a healthy and vibrant RPT. Since the state party is always raising money for the next election, I asked if he could assist us in fundraising. Despite his previously having contributed to the Debt Busters committee, he not only committed additional funds from his personal campaign, but asked other board members to contribute as well. In one day, he and Representatives Crownover and Kolkhorst contributed $15,000 and have committed to raising thousands more for the party.”

“All of us here at RPT are very appreciative for the help Rep. Hilderbran has provided to the state party, as well as the wonderful work he has done in supporting our State House candidates through the TRRCC. I very much look forward to working with Chairman Hilderbran and the other members of the committee in the future.”
