Candidate Resource Committee (CRC)

• We are the Republican Party of Texas’s campaign fund for the lower ballot candidates.
• Funds are given only to Republican nominees who agree with RPT Platform Principles, have a recommendation by a County Chair or SREC member, and complete an application.
• The CRC is OUR grassroots fund: raised from the grassroots, administered by grassroots leaders, and distributed to lower ballot candidates.
• Candidates in every Senate District – from urban, suburban, and rural counties – have received contributions in recent election cycles.
• The Candidate Resource Committee is composed of SREC members and other appointees from around Texas.

The CRC provides funds and other resources to our down ballot nominees in the General Election.  With almost no overhead, 90%+ of our funds go directly to the candidates.

The CRC focuses on district and county level seats, including county judges and commissioners, justices of the peace, constables, state district judges, judges in county courts at law, and other countywide offices.  Down ballot offices are important but often overlooked.

The CRC requires each applicant to develop an effective campaign plan by making a budget, researching their district, and outlining their general strategy.  The CRC targets three types of races:

1. Support GOP incumbents who are being challenged by Democrats.

            WE DEFEND THE GROUND WE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN.

2. Support GOP challengers to Democrat incumbents or in open seats.

            WE FIGHT FOR BATTLEGROUND DISTRICTS THAT ARE WINNABLE

3. Support GOP candidates in blue and purple counties.

            WE SEED BLUE TERRITORY FOR LONG-TERM BUILDING OF A GOP POLITICAL BASE
