The Legislative Review Task Force, a group of SREC members, will present its final report and recommendations to the full SREC at a special meeting on August 9 in Austin. Upon approval by the SREC, the report will be shared with county parties, who will then have until September 6 to submit all Rule No. 44 resolutions to the SREC for consideration. All Texas Republican legislators are invited to attend these special meetings.

The Republican Party of Texas is grateful to the leaders who fought for this important step in improving education — Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, and Speaker Dustin Burrows. Their strong support for school choice this session made a real difference. We also want to thank President Donald Trump for leading the charge to shut down the U.S. Department of Education and give power back to the states. Most of all, we’re incredibly thankful for our grassroots — the hardworking Texans who stood up, spoke out, and made this happen. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Today, the Republican Party of Texas urged the Texas House of Representatives to adopt rules prohibiting the appointment of Democrats as committee chairs. This call follows repeated demands from grassroots conservatives, county party organizations, and Republican voters across the state, who overwhelmingly support ensuring that leadership in the Texas House reflects the principles and priorities of the Republican Party.
