County Convention
A County Convention is held when the county is completely within one state senatorial district. The incumbent county chairman (which may be different from the one elected in the primary election) serves as the temporary county convention chairman. To find your County Convention location and start time, check with your County Party.
Senatorial District (SD) Convention
A Senatorial District (SD) Convention is held when the county is divided between two or more state senatorial districts. The temporary senatorial district chairman is elected by the precinct chairs within that county's state senatorial district. To find your SD Convention location and start time, check this list.
Who Can Participate?
Although only delegates that were elected at their precinct convention may vote at the County/SD Convention, anyone who is a registered voter of the County/SD and affiliated with the Republican Party may attend as a guest, learn about the Resolutions and Legislative Priorities that will come out of the County/SD Convention, and be considered for a place on the Delegate/Alternate list to the State Convention.
What Happens at the Convention?
At the County/SD Convention, delegates will vote on a proposed set of legislative priorities, proposed resolutions, and a proposed list of delegates and alternates to the State Convention. For more information about your County/SD Convention or any committee meetings that may be scheduled prior, please contact your local County Party.
