As part of Chairman Munisteri's commitment to be totally transparent, the Republican Party of Texas is publishing a final copy of the proposed rules changes in advance of Wednesday's emergency meeting of the SREC. The final version was not completed until this afternoon (Monday, February 27th) after receiving requests from various County Chairmen across the state to make modifications.

PROPOSED TEMPORARY AND EMERGENCY CHANGES TO RPT RULES

The State Republican Executive Committee will meet this Wednesday at noon in Austin to vote on the proposed rules changes. Whatever final version is adopted by the SREC, will then be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Department of Justice for pre-clearance. Court approval from the San Antonio three-judge federal panel will also be required. It is hoped that new rules will be in place no later than the end of March, which will allow us to have district conventions in April, and the State Convention on time from June 7-9.

Once the final version of rules is adopted on Wednesday, we will post whatever passes online.

Only the sections in which words are marked out contain any proposed changes. The other sections remain unchanged. An original version of RPT rules can be found at this link via TexasGOP.org
