The Republican Party of Texas is blessed to benefit from the dedicated volunteer service of incredible people from across this great state. One of the critical areas of service is as Chaplain for RPT.

Jeremy Story was appointed Chaplain in June of this year and provided much-needed spiritual leadership for the Republican Party of Texas. He served with grace, humility, compassion, and a deep love for all. In keeping with the high level of integrity with which he served the party, he voluntarily offered his resignation once it became clear that he felt led to campaign for the Texas House of Representatives.

Corey Tabor – the Founder and Lead Pastor of Full Life Community Church in Pflugerville, TX – has been appointed to succeed Jeremy in this crucial role. He is also the Program Director of Austin LifeGuard, the sexual risk avoidance education program of Austin LifeCare Pregnancy Resource Center, as well as a member of the Board of Texas Alliance for Life. He and his wife April have one daughter.

Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey issued the following statement:

“Jeremy Story served as an exemplary spiritual leader for the party through the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Harvey when there was so much heartache and suffering. While I have no doubt that he would have continued to serve the Party well while campaigning for public office, I have accepted his resignation and appreciate his selfless desire to continue to do what he believes is best for the party. Jeremy has consistently exemplified honor and integrity, and I thank him for both for his solid record of service and for yet again putting party before preference.

“Corey Tabor is a man of God with long-standing roots in Texas. He and his wife April have devoted themselves to serving their community and have a strong commitment to God and to the principles which our party holds dear. The Republican Party of Texas is fortunate to have the opportunity for Corey to provide dedicated, compassionate spiritual leadership and I am delighted that he has agreed to serve and lead as our Chaplain.”
