The Volunteerism Committee of the Republican Party of Texas has been very active and involved in 2011, and today we wish to thank them for a recent decision which has proved highly successful for the state party!

At the last State Republican Executive Committee meeting, the Volunteerism Committee made the decision to allocate funding for the purpose of hiring a staff member to help with the task of finding a Republican county chairman for each of the vacant positions. This funding was made possible by the event proceeds resulting from the tremendous success of the RPT 2011 Volunteer of the Year Gala, held at the Austin Club in downtown Austin, TX on September 30th.

The woman hired for the task is Cassie Daniel, a longtime Capitol staffer and former regional field director for Governor Rick Perry. In just a few short weeks, Cassie has successfully worked to find new county chairs in all but two counties in Texas! Hudspeth and Presidio counties over in West Texas remain the lone holdouts, but Cassie has continued to search and provide followup support for the new volunteers in the other counties whose spots are now filled.

Said Chairman Munisteri, "The Volunteerism Committee is due much thanks for this act of leadership and I'd like to thank commitee chair Leslie Recine and the committee for this decision. Without a Republican county chairman, these counties would be unable to hold a Republican primary election this March. With new county chairs installed and ready to work, thousands and thousands of Texas voters will now have the opportunity to participate in our Republican primary and have their voice heard on the race for President, the U.S. Senate, Congressional races and more. I believe that this work is so crucial to the success of the RPT, and I am very pleased with Cassie's determination and the speed in which she went to work."
