The filing period for candidates requesting a place on the 2014 Republican primary ballot opens this Saturday, November 9th and closes at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 9th. The Republican Party of Texas will be available the following dates and times to accept ballot applications for offices in mutli-county districts:
Saturday, November 9th, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Monday – Fridays during the filing period from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with the following exceptions:
The RPT will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28th and 29th, for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will not accept applications on these days.
On Monday, December 9th, the RPT will accept applications from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
Candidates do not have to file in person. Applications can be mailed to the Republican Party of Texas, 1108 Lavaca, Suite 500, Austin, TX 78701. Applications received by mail prior to November 9th or after December 9th will be rejected.
Candidates who do file in person should remember to bring their completed and notarized application to RPT along with their filing fee or petition. In order to expedite your application, please pay your filing fee with a cashier’s check or money order made payable to RPT. Checks are also accepted. Credit card payments and cash are not acceptable forms of payment.

All candidates who are filing for office solely within one county need to file with their County Republican Party Chairman. A list of County Chairs and their contact information can be found at the RPT website.
